Remember: Photography against Alzheimer

US$100

Overview

Exclusively launched at Paris Photo 2025, all proceeds from the limited edition photography book "Remember: Photography against Alzheimer" are donated to the Fondation Recherche Alzheimer.

The book gathers curated photographs submitted to Frames for Memory, a social media initiative created by Sara Abillama at age sixteen. The project began after a moment of profound shock when her uncle, with whom she shared a close bond, no longer recognised her. His diagnosis with Alzheimer disease pushed her to use photography as a tool for awareness, dialogue and support for research. Photographs carry the moments we cannot risk losing.

Through an open call, participants shared images responding to the question, “What is one memory you would never want to forget”, forming a collective visual archive. Created in collaboration with Ecole Jeannine Manuel’s Photography and Journalism Clubs and presented at Paris Photo 2025, this book turns individual testimonies into a unified call to action. Each copy strengthens the link between artistic expression and scientific progress. "Remember" invites readers to pause, reflect and honour what memory preserves.

About the Author

Sara Abillama

Sara Abillama, a Lebanese and French student at Ecole Jeannine Manuel in Paris, founded "Frames for Memory", an initiative that uses photography as an art, in order to raise awareness about Alzheimer disease. The initiative began after a personal encounter with memory loss in her family, which pushed her to use photography as a tool for dialogue and fundraising. Through open calls and school partnerships, she built a platform that highlights the value of preserved memories. Her work supports research efforts and promotes collective engagement around Alzheimer challenges.
