Meet the Author
Michael Marder
Michael Marder is an Ikerbasque Research Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Senior Fellow at the Institute for Global Reconstitution (IGRec). His work spans the fields of environmental philosophy and ecological thought, political theory, and phenomenology. Holding a PhD in philosophy from the New School for Social Research, New York, Marder is the author of numerous scientific articles, monographs, and books, including, most recently, Pyropolitics: Fire and the Political (ibidem Press, 2025); Eco-Freud from A to Z (Bloomsbury, 2025); Plants in Place: A Phenomenology of the Vegetal, with Edward S. Casey (Columbia University Press, 2023); Time Is a Plant (Brill, 2023); The Phoenix Complex: A Philosophy of Nature (The MIT Press, 2023), and Philosophy for Passengers (The MIT Press, 2022).
