Focal Point 2024, Sharjah’s annual art book fair, returns for its seventh edition at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi from 22 to 24 November 2024. The fair features a compelling selection of printed material by artists’ presses, bookmakers, self-publishers and non-commercial cultural producers who expand and experiment with the medium of publishing. This year, Sharjah Art Foundation has invited several community leaders, artists, graphic designers and independent practitioners to present a selection of publications from their respective cultural ecosystems at Focal Point.

The fair will also include workshops on sketching, writing and zine-making, in addition to programming conversations, readings and presentations focusing on publications produced by the Foundation and the fair’s participants, alongside intimate meet-and-greet sessions about diverse publishing initiatives.

يعود معرض الكتاب الفني السنوي في مؤسسة الشارقة للفنون "نقطة لقاء" بنسخته السابعة، وذلك في بيت عبيد الشامسي من 22 إلى 24 نوفمبر 2024، ويتضمن مجموعة مختارة من المطبوعات التي تشمل المنشورات الفنية وإنتاجات الناشرين المستقلين والمشاريع الثقافية غير الربحية، التي يلتزم أصحابها بممارسات نوعية وتجريبية تسعى إلى توسيع نطاق وسيط النشر وحضوره. تستضيف المؤسسة هذا العام العديد من روّاد المجتمع والفنانين ومصممي الغرافيك والممارسين المستقلين لعرض مجموعة من منشوراتهم على اختلاف فضاءاتهم الثقافية.

ويتخلل المعرض ورشاً تتناول رسم الاسكتشات والكتابة وصنع المفكّرات المصورة، فضلاً عن برنامج متنوع من الجلسات الحوارية والقراءات والعروض التقديمية التي تركز على مطبوعات المؤسسة والمشاركين، إلى جانب جلسات خاصة مع المشاركين للتعرف على مبادرات النشر المتنوعة.
